Develop Early Career Talent to set your business up for success.

If you don’t invest in the potential of your early talent, you’re doing them, and your organisation, a disservice. Because undeveloped talent is wasted talent.

Our Engage, Empower & Retain workshops pro-actively develop and support your entry talent through the early stages of their career within your organisation.

Investing in entry-level retention and advancement helps companies in several ways:

  • Reducing costs

  • Developing a stronger talent pipeline

  • Increasing employee productivity and engagement

We work with organisations that are passionate about empowering and enabling entry-level and rising talent to achieve their career potential, both generally, and within the organisation. In line with one of our core values, Diversity, our services are designed to increase diverse representation across all levels of your organisation.

Challenges and rewards

Research reveals significantly higher attrition rates amongst entry-level talent and highest for those from ethnically diverse communities.

However, for organisations that take BOLD action to address this, the rewards are clear. Businesses with higher levels of gender, ethnic and cultural diversity are more likely to outperform others (McKinsey, Delivering Through Diversity, 2017).

Our holistic entry-level development workshops are designed to engage, empower and retain your entry and rising talent.

Attraction 2 Application workshop

We know that applications from ethnically diverse communities, and low socio-economic backgrounds, have the lowest application completion rate. So, our workshops are designed to increase the completion and success rates of these demographics.

In this 2-hour workshop, we create a safe space for participants to:

  • Address concerns

  • Overcome self-limiting beliefs

  • Get support to create and communicate their personal value propositions

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right!”

Our participants start our workshops thinking that possibly they can’t. They leave knowing they can and will.

Benefits

Prospective applicants are supported with:

  • Increased awareness of their unique value-add contribution

  • Enhanced appreciation of their skills and ability to succeed in their chosen career within your organisation

This results in a significantly increased chance of them successfully completing applications to join your intern or graduate programmes.

Stretch & Engage workshop

Following a successful application, we further support the growth and development of your entry talent with our Stretch workshops.

In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn how to:

  • Confidently contribute: Stretching our participants to contribute and develop using effective skills and tools proactively. Enhancing their confidence levels, encouraging them to be active team players, not backseat drivers.

  • Transition to the workplace: Underscoring why core soft/functional skills are required to support the effective transition to the corporate world for those with limited work experience.

  • Develop soft skills: Introducing the vital importance of soft skills, through interactive exercises, and showing how successful utilisation of these skills supports engagement, effective relationship-building and career progression.

Core soft skills covered:

  • Effective communication – overcoming the “generational communication gaps” common in many multi-generational workforces

  • Purposeful collaboration – understanding team dynamics and working to your strengths in teams

  • Managing up and laterally – providing insight into the What, Why and How of managing up, and laterally; an effective introduction to self-leadership skills.

Have a specific area to address?

If you have identified a particular area that requires more support and development, just let us know and we can tailor the workshop’s focus to.

Benefits

Your entry talent will be equipped with:

  • Tools and techniques to help them effectively acclimatise to the working environment and smoothly integrate into your organisation, from both a technical and functional perspective.

  • A heightened awareness of how to identify the value ecosystem of the organisation and how their role feeds into it. Put simply, what departments and roles are best suited to their skills and interests.

This results in them growing in confidence, adding more value, and independently moving from a comfort zone to a growth zone.

Testimonials

“Lola delivered two great early career sessions for us. She hit the brief perfectly and the brilliant feedback from the students was evidence of the positive impact she had on everyone in attendance. We really appreciated her ability to tailor her material to her audience; touching on authenticity, D&I and self-awareness in ways that recognised and supported the nuanced experiences of the diverse cohort of young people she was speaking to. We’ll definitely be asking Lola to come back for our future cohorts!.”

Aishat Ola-Said, Global Head of Early Careers

“I would highly recommend attending one of Lola’s webinars. One of the various topics she covered specifically was Role Alignment which aided me incredibly in aligning desired roles to my already existing skills. This proved to be such an integral aspect of my applications and led me to be successful in achieving a summer internship placement!”

Teni Akinruli , Audit Intern

“Lọ́lá is a spirited and charismatic speaker who undoubtedly has the ability to inspire a room. Her sessions give aspiring young professionals the practical skills they need to build and pitch their personal value propositions with confidence and authenticity. Given that she has had a hugely successful career thus far, it is clear that she speaks from real experience, which confirms the legitimacy of her advice.

After participating in one of her workshops and taking her advice, I am certainly more driven to proactively create new opportunities for myself. Lọ́lá is clearly a force to be reckoned with and I cannot recommend her services enough..”
